How to BCC Emails in OneCrew
Last updated: November 10, 2025
Overview
Sending proposals and invoices directly to clients is a core part of your workflow. But how do you keep your internal teams—like sales, management, or accounting—informed without cluttering your customer's inbox? The Blind Carbon Copy (BCC) feature is the perfect solution.
This tutorial will walk you through how to use the BCC field to discreetly include internal recipients on emails. This ensures your team has full visibility into client communications while maintaining a professional and direct line with your customer. You can add BCC recipients manually for individual emails or automate the process using email templates.
Insight: Using BCC is a simple yet powerful way to maintain a clean communication line with your customers while ensuring seamless internal visibility on key documents like proposals and invoices.
Step-by-Step Instructions
You can add BCC recipients in two ways: manually for a single email or by updating an email template to automate it for future communications.
Method 1: Manually Add a BCC Recipient
Use this method when you need to include a colleague on a one-off email.
When sending a document like a proposal, the Send Proposal window will appear.
Below the To field, you will see fields for Cc and a link for Bcc. Click the Bcc link.
A Bcc field will appear. Type the email address of the team member you wish to include.
Finalize your email and click Send Email. Your message will be sent to the customer and a blind copy will go to the address you entered, which remains hidden from the customer.
Method 2: Automate BCC with Email Templates
To save time and ensure consistency, add a permanent BCC address to an email template.
Navigate to Settings in the main menu, then select Email.
Under Active Templates, find the template you want to modify. Click the three-dot menu on the right and select Edit.
In the Edit Email Template window, click the Bcc link to add the field.
Enter the email address that should always be copied when this template is used (e.g.,
accounting@yourcompany.com).Click Update to save your changes. The BCC field will now be pre-populated every time you use this template.
Pro Tip: Create specific templates for different scenarios. For example, a 'Proposal Template' could BCC your sales manager, while an 'Invoice Template' could BCC the accounting department, automating the right notifications for each workflow.
Troubleshooting
My automated BCC isn't working.
When composing your email, make sure you have selected the correct, updated template from the Email Template dropdown. The BCC will only auto-populate if the modified template is in use.
Can I add multiple BCC addresses?
Yes. You can add multiple email addresses to the Bcc field, whether you are adding them manually or within a template. Just separate each address with a comma.
